Thoughts, advice, and writings from a regular girl with big dreams!EasyA Review
So I saw EasyA last weekend, the movie that has been referred to as the modern day version of the Scarlett Letter….yea, no.
EasyA is not a very good movie. Its corny, not that funny, and actually pretty stupid. The acting is TERRIBLE!!! Emma Stone is alright, Amanda Bynes was good, but Alyson Michalka (the blonde hottie from Hell Cats) is the WORST!!! She has no acting skills in this movie and it is just pathetic if you ask me.
Lisa Kudrow also made a random appearance, as well as the bad-guy fiance in George of the Jungle….it was weird to say the least.
The movie attempts to give a “lesson” to viewers on what happens when you whore-yourself out (or fake whore-yourself-out in this case) and how people can be judgmental/start rumors/yadda yadda yadda. The message to me was skewed by the terrible plot/acting…yikes!
OVERALL RATING OUT OF 10: 4/5
Internships are hard.
I just recently started two internships….one in boston and one in nyc. For some reason, I thought it would be a good idea to take both at the same time…so far, so good; however, I am somewhat stressed out and the amount of traveling I have been doing is kind of insane. The fact that I have found time to even write this blog amazes me.
I really do want to get my blog/youtube channel/website up and running though so I figure I better start posting regularly (even if I am 3 glasses of wine deep). But back to my original post: internships are HARD!
For one of my internships, I spend my day on TWITTER doing a bunch of pointless shit, but at the same time, it isn’t pointless because it is going to make the company I work for money (I understand how, but I don’t understand why…). Can I be the 1000000000000 person to say that Twitter absolutely SUCKS and there is no point to it? It is the worst invention ever and I really wish it didn’t exist
Anyone else have to spend their day on Twitter or doing other mindless/stupid tasks that require no brain work, but somehow still end up making mistakes? Let me know, let’s chat!
What is the deal with EHarmony?
Has anyone out there (and I don’t mean the fake people on the commercials) had success with EHarmony? Even though I am still pretty young, I find there to be somewhat of a shortage of decent men out there…and sometimes find myself wondering if EHarmony is the right choice for me? Is it mostly for people looking for marriage or is it for younger people too? Thoughts?
Advertisements on YouTube….BULLSHIT
I think it is complete BULLSHIT how YouTube decided to completely sell out and start using popular videos (or even just regular videos with a high # of hits) to display ads before you can watch your selected video.
It is bad enough that certain pages are plastered with advertisements (ie – VEVO), not to mention the fact that EVERY video now has a small advertisement bar you have to close out of if you don’t want it there while watching your video. I just think it is ridiculous; I understand the website wanting to profit, but they are getting out of control. I know everyone is used to it at this point, but there was a simpler time when there were very few if ANY ads on YouTube…. well those days are over and it is only getting worse!
Just my bullshit of the day lol.
Lovely Sunday Afternoon
I went for a run today near my high school and it was awesome because it was a beautiful end-of-summer day and after I went running, I decided instead of going home I would drive through the back roads of woodbury, CT and enjoy the sun setting through the winding roads.
So I drove at a pretty slow pace with my windows down, wind through my hair, music playing as I let my arm dangle out the window, loving the summer breeze coming through my car. The roads are fairly narrow, but I drove into each curve so slowly, breathing in the warmth of the air around each turn….and I swear each one smelled differently. Some smelled like smoke-grilled barbeque while others smelled of fresh cut grass, one smelled of fresh tar as if it had just been laid that day. But my favorite part was driving down this widened area of road where you can see the landscape deep into the distance, all mountains and the sun was just hitting the bottom of them making them glow like a pumpkin on halloween…it was marvelous. And just when I thought I knew this town, I saw an opening for a path and as I drove past the dirt road area I could make out a lake between the leaves…definitely stopping there tomorrow.
I can’t believe summer is over.
LONG LOST by Harlan Coben: My 2-cents
Just turned the last page of Harlan Coben’s book Long Lost and all I can say is WOW! As a HUGE fan of Harlan (I own and have read every single one of his books and that is a lot of shelf space people), this book definitely lived up to my expectations!!
As always, the book is highly detailed and at times complicated and hard to keep up with (not necessarily in a bad way though). The only thing is sometimes I forget things that have happened because so much other shit is going on, but honestly all in all it is just so well written that I don’t care. His style of writing is unlike anything I have read which is why he keeps me coming back after all these years.
WHAT TO EXPECT WHEN READING A HARLAN COBEN BOOK:
You will laugh, you will cry, laugh some more, and your heart will definitely be racing at one point or another. I often find myself skipping over lines just to get to the next juicy part (of course after I do that I go back and re-read the lines), but all in all you will have a great time reading his books. They are EXTREMELY quick reads, one I finished in a day and it was several hundred pages. He is so corny at times, but really funny too, even when he isn’t necessarily going for the big laugh. He is creative, witty, and he will keep you on the edge of your seat for sure.
LONG LOST:
This book follows the lovable series character Myron Bolitar (+ Win and the whole gang) on his international journey trying to solve a mystery (of course) involving one of his past lovers, Terese Collins. The book is action packed, has thrills and excitement around every turn. The ending is AWESOME, I couldn’t stop reading it and definitely shed more than a few tears (to me, if an author can make me cry, he is a great writer).

Songs I am OBSESSED with right NOW
To me, good music is good music, and yes, that inlcudes Katy Perry. I know some people hate on her, but not only do I love the sound of her voice, I love the artist right due to her blue wigs!
WHY I LIKE HER
- She’s different in sound, look, and statement
- Her songs are catchy and enjoyable
- Her last album is very creative in lyrics and sound
- Her songs are about real things in her life (at least on the new album)
- Almost all of her songs are great for parties/dancing
TEENAGE DREAM
WHY I LIKE THIS SONG
- I love the beat and how the song is slow at first and then changes at the chorus
- Not a fan of the bridge, but the rest of the song (esp the chorus) is just amazing
- The song speaks to me as I was once a teenager, and I think it speaks to a lot of others who have experienced real teenage love
- She got my heart racing in her skin tight jeans

The New Season of FUTURAMA
For those of you who don’t know, Futurama is an adult cartoon show created by Matt Groening (same guy who created the Simpsons). The show started out in 1999, but only ran for a few seasons (til 2003) before being cancelled. Fortunately for Futurama fans such as myself, people continued to talk about the show and enough interest was shown to bring the show back to life this past summer.
SO the real question is, what is the new season like? Does it live up to the previous seasons? Well yes and no.
The show is definitely the same as before, but like the Simpsons, it seems the writers are dried up and out of ideas and are just working off of weird or stupid ideas. The shows are enjoyable and I still watch them, but I just saw a new episode with this planet of cats or something and it was just retarded, I am sorry. Matt Groening needs to fire whoever is writing for these shows or at least bring in some fresh/new talent to liven it up. I shouldn’t say anything about the Simpsons though since it did run for so long with so many different, great seasons….but I guarantee you the show is on it’s last legs.
I wonder what is going to happen after this new season of Futurama, if they will continue the show or just let it die. I think they can do better so I say give it another shot, and for the love of God, Groening, hire some new writers!
Any opinions out there?
Bed Intruder Song…I’m sorry, but too funny!
Okay, so we have all seen the original video (which is actually pretty fucked up) about this poor woman who was attacked in the middle of the night by a man climbing in her window and attempting to rape her. HOWEVER, her brother, Antoine Dodson decided to go off on a hilarious tirade about how they are going to find him. It was only after someone on YouTube capitalized on this idiot and made it into a pretty catchy tune. Watch the video here and but I must warn you: you will be humming the song all day afterward.

Music I’m OBSESSED with Right NOW
Sarah McLaughlin has always been an old favorite of mine, she crops up in my playlist or on the radio every once in while, but I really do enjoy her music a lot. Its light, melodic, and yet her voice is so powerful and perfect.
The song “Loving you is Easy,” has been playing on the radio a lot lately and I have really come to love it. To me, the lyrics make the song; no they don’t exactly rhyme (not the whole time at least), but they are true and honest words that happen to sound awesome when sung by her.
Personally, I can really relate to the second verse of the song a lot because it speaks volumes about our own lives. Sometimes we get caught up in love or life and forget about ourselves and it can be so easy to lose yourself along the way. We have all felt lost and insecure at one point, but sometimes we don’t have to wait around for someone else to save us, we have to save ourselves!
